On Psychiatry and Religion: The Lure of Fundamentalism

I was just blown away when I read this lecture about four years ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. Indian psychiatrist Salman Akhtar talks about the psychoanalytical perspective of the fundamentalist rise.  Fundamentalists are terrifying - no matter what religion or mindset, and it behooves all of us to learn what we can about them.
