These lists are always fun. I've been reading Jezebel quite a bit lately. It's rude and a nice rest from political postings.  But the Gawker media company seems to be over-represented in this list, which is amusing, but I don't buy it.

SNL parody of birth control

OK, just one more and I'm done for a while.  I've started reading the Jezebel blog because even if you're a mature mother, you can still have a sick sense of humor!

Gotta love Youtube. You get to watch EXCERPTS from humor shows.  Much better than the whole show.

The loss of Major Andrew Olmsted

Major Andy Olmsted, who posted on one of my favorite blogs, Obsidian Wings, as G'Kar, was in the armed forces, and was a good and a thoughtful writer.   He was 37, with a family and the perspective that comes from age and education, and I enjoyed his posts.  Here is an article that he wrote about why he went to war.

Andy left a posting with hilzoy, of Obsidian Wings, asking her to post it if he was ever killed in the war. She posted his farewell on January 4, and it's a moving message from someone who lost their life doing the job that they committed to do - for our country.

I rarely have the opportunity to speak face to face with people who are going through active combat, or who are in the army.  I will miss Andy's postings and his perspective and I appreciated both them and him.  My condolences to his family.

20 posts all women should read

All Diva Media (um, who thought up THAT title?) just posted a list titled 20 posts all women should read.  Interesting stuff.  Not to sound too ultra bad-attitude here, but I could use one of those every MONTH, say, telling me just the "best of the best" in each genre blog that I read.  Any takers?
